What this site is
This is the personal portfolio and contact site for Sankalp Rai Gambhir. This policy explains what data is collected when you visit, why, and what choices you have.
Analytics cookies
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic patterns (pages visited, referral source, approximate location, device type). Google Analytics only runs after you accept the cookie banner shown on your first visit — it is not loaded before you give consent, and it never runs at all if you decline. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which will show the banner again.
This site also uses Vercel Analytics/Speed Insights, a cookieless tool that measures page views, site performance, and key interactions (e.g. contact form submissions). Because it does not use cookies or store personal data, it is not subject to the same consent requirement and runs regardless of your cookie choice.
Visitor identification (Apollo)
This site uses Apollo.io, which sets its own cookie, to identify the companies — and, for visitors in the United States, individuals — that visit it, based on IP address and browsing behavior, so I can follow up about relevant opportunities. Apollo may also share some of this data with its own advertising partners under its privacy policy. Like Google Analytics, this only runs after you accept the cookie banner — it is not loaded before you give consent, and it never runs at all if you decline.
Contact form data
If you submit the contact form, your name, email address, and message are stored in a MongoDB database so the message can be read and responded to. This data is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is not sold or shared with third parties.
Scheduling (Calendly)
If you click a "Schedule a Call" button, a Calendly booking widget loads from Calendly's servers. Any information you provide to schedule a call (name, email, selected time) is handled directly by Calendly under its own privacy policy — this site does not receive or store that data itself.
Cookies used
- Analytics consent choice — stored in your browser's local storage so the banner doesn't reappear on every visit.
- Google Analytics cookies — set only after you accept analytics cookies.
- Apollo cookie — set only after you accept analytics cookies; used to identify visiting companies and, for US visitors, individuals.
- Theme preference — stored locally to remember light/dark mode.
Your choices
You can decline analytics cookies at any time via the consent banner, or by clearing this site's local storage in your browser settings. Declining stops both Google Analytics and Apollo from running. It does not affect your ability to browse the site, view projects, or use the contact form.
